Gulfport, Miss. – Mississippi Power was invited to participate in this weekend’s episode of “Home Town,” HGTV’s popular home renovation show set in Laurel.

Mississippi Power External Affairs Manager Annie McMillan joins host Ben Napier on the set of HGTV’s “Home Town.”

Annie McMillan, Mississippi Power’s External Affairs Manager, will showcase creative ways to update a vintage or historical home to make it more energy efficient while maintaining its unique charm.

“What an exciting opportunity for us to work with the Napiers and their team to reach more of our customers,” said McMillan. “We’re so pleased for the episode to show viewers our solutions to energy-proof these houses to make them more sustainable and to ensure that these historical homes will be enjoyed for years to come. It’s certainly a win-win collaboration.”

This is the second year that a Mississippi Power employee has been invited on the show to discuss energy efficiency tips. Last year, Mississippi Power donated smart thermostats, 50-gallon heat pump water heaters and LED light bulbs for most of the renovated homes. For the shows fifth season, the company is also providing insulation from a local business, Pine Belt Insulation Inc., whenever possible.

“We’re appreciative of the continued support from Mississippi Power,” said host Ben Napier. “Together, we’re reinvesting in the community, restoring these beautiful, historical homes and helping our new neighbors more easily manage their energy usage.”

Mississippi Power’s episode will air Sunday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.
