The Mississippi Public Service Commission today unanimously approved a stipulation reached by Mississippi Power and the Mississippi Public Utilities Staff regarding the company’s 2019 base rate filing. The result is a balanced outcome for the customer and the company.
“I’m extremely proud of the effort put forth by our employees, the Public Service Commission and the Staff who all put in a lot of hard work on the company’s first full rate case in decades,” President and CEO Anthony Wilson said. “This win-win agreement delivers savings for our customers and financial stability for our company.”
The PSC’s decision will result in a rate decrease of $2.48 for a residential customer using 1,000 kWh per month. Combined with other decreases over the last four months, the total benefit to an average residential customer is a decrease of nearly $8 per month.
