Mississippi Power is listed among “The Best Utilities in Economic Development in the Mid-South,” according to Southern Business and Development magazine.
The recognition was awarded by polling members of SB&D’s Southern Economic Development Roundtable. The roundtable members included current and former Secretaries of Commerce at Southern states in SEDR, along with educators, economists, consultants and local economic developers.
The magazine noted Mississippi Power is one of the three best in 60 different regional and sub-regional categories.
“We are honored to be on this list and will continue our work of making Southeast Mississippi an attractive area to do business,” said Economic Development Director Brian Useforge.
In 2015, Mississippi Power was also recognized by Southern Business and Development magazine as one of “Mississippi’s Most Admired Service Companies.” That list consists of 30 economic development categories such as most admired manufacturers, best economic development law firms and best local economic development agencies.
Last year, the company was also honored by Site Selection magazine in the honorable mention category in its annual Top Utilities in North America for Economic Development list.
