Mississippi Power was recognized Friday by the Mississippi Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve for “its extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the Mississippi Guard and Reserve.”
The company received ESGR’s Above and Beyond Award at a banquet in Jackson.
“The Above and Beyond Award was created to publicly recognize American employers like Mississippi Power, who provide extraordinary patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” Mississippi ESGR Chairman Aubrey Ray said. “Supportive employers like Mississippi Power are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
Plant Daniel Maintenance Manager Conrad Amos and Maintenance Team Leader Shane Lott accepted the award on behalf of the company.
“We are very appreciative of this corporate recognition, but it is the men and women of Mississippi Power who have chosen to dedicate their lives to the service of our country who deserve our gratitude,” Human Resources Director Cindy Webb said. “Our goal is to support them in their efforts and make it as easy as possible for them to fulfill their service and training commitment and then come home to their families, our community and to our company.”
