Meridian Division Manager honored for service to Navy League

Meridian Division Manager Eddie Kelly (left) was recently honored by the EMBDC for his service to the Meridian Navy League.

The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation recognized Meridian Division Manager Eddie Kelly this week for his leadership with the Navy League.

Kelly, who served as the Meridian Navy League’s Board President for the last two years, was honored for his community service efforts in east Mississippi.

Kelly enlisted in the Marine Corps after his high school graduation and served four years on active duty. He returned to his home state and enrolled at William Carey College, where he earned a degree in accounting.

He then spent 17 years on active reserve while working in various roles at Mississippi Power and Georgia Power.

Kelly returned to Mississippi Power as the Meridian Division Manager in 2013.

In Meridian, Kelly serves on the EMBDC’s Board of Directors, the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s Advisory Committee, the United Way of East Mississippi’s Board and is involved with several other community development organizations.

In December, Kelly delivered the commencement address to the 2017 fall graduates of Mississippi State University-Meridian.
