After an incredibly successful 2015 partnership that raised more than $24,000, members of the Pine Belt chapter of Community Connection recently teamed up with Extra Table to raise funds again for food pantries across the region.
“The combination of Mississippi Power’s employee volunteers and the services provided by Extra Table led to a tremendous response from the community last year,” said Mississippi Power Pine Belt Division Manager Michael Harvey. “Our team saw the results and impact we made on thousands of families. We’re very excited about this year’s event.”
More than 100 golfers turned out for the Power to Fight Hunger golf tournament at Timberton Golf Club and initial estimates point to almost $22,000 raised at the event.
